Nothing is expanding its budget audio lineup, confirming the new Nothing Ear (3a) wireless earbuds will launch on July 7 alongside the upcoming Nothing Phone (4b).

The company confirmed the launch in a typically playful teaser posted to social media, with the event scheduled for 11am BST, or 8pm AEST.

The Ear (3a) will be offered in four colours: black, white, yellow and pink, giving Nothing’s more affordable earbuds the same colourful treatment seen across parts of its wider lineup.

The teaser does not reveal the full design or specifications, although the earbuds are expected to retain Nothing’s signature transparent styling.

Nothing also said the launch video was shot on the upcoming Phone (4b), tying the earbuds into the company’s next smartphone launch.

Pricing has not been officially confirmed and Australian availability remains unclear. However, earlier leaks have pointed to European pricing of around €99, or roughly A$175, which would place the Ear (3a) in the same affordable category as Nothing’s previous Ear (a) model.

Nothing has yet to confirm key specifications, including driver size, battery life, active noise cancellation, microphone setup or whether the case will support wireless charging.

The Ear (3a) is expected to sit below the standard Ear (3).

The launch comes as Nothing continues to build a broader device ecosystem spanning smartphones, earbuds and headphones, with the Phone (4b) also expected to target more budget-conscious buyers.

Full pricing, specifications and regional availability are expected to be announced at the July 7 launch.
