Next Gen TCL 140″ Display Glasses Revealed 30% Lighter

The first TCL NXTWear glasses that delivered a 140″ display screen were cool but in need of improvements.

Sold exclusively by Harvey Norman TCL has used CES 2022 to reveal their second-generation wearable display that is 30% lighter than the original model.

Called NxtWear Air is now down to down to 75g compared to 130g. TCL has also introduced two magnetic interchangeable plates that attach to the front of the frames to change the style of the glasses.

the new NxtWear Air, has two 1080p Micro OLEDs embedded in the glasses frames that deliver the effect of viewing a 140-inch screen from about 4 metres away.

Using USB-C to connect to a DisplayPort users can access content via a compatible phone, tablet, or laptop.

Also built in are stereo speakers and if you are on an aeroplane and don’t want passengers to hear you can connect Bluetooth or wired headphones instead.

This year’s model also comes with two magnetic interchangeable plates that attach to the front of the frames to change up the style of the glasses.

TCL management said that NxtWear Air will launch in Q1 of 2022.

At this stage it’s not known how well the original prototype sold at Harvey Norman which was one of the few retail stores in the world selling the $899 device.
