New iPhones To Debut Major Bluetooth Upgrade

Forthcoming Apple iPhones are rumoured to deploy dual Bluetooth audio connectivity, enabling users to hear GPS directions via their car audio, and stream music via wireless headphones simultaneously.

As per Mac Rumours, the feature will allow users to connect two pairs of Bluetooth headphones at the same time.

The news comes as Apple continues to phase out headphone jacks, with new iPhones forcing users to employ wireless Bluetooth headphones.

According to Japanese tech blog, Mac Otakara, Asian supply chain sources claim the functionality will be similar to Samsung’s Dual Audio Feature (available on selected Galaxy devices).

Current iPhones can only connect to one Bluetooth audio profile, with the feature set to ramp up wireless smarts.

Samsung’s Dual Audio Feature reportedly harnesses Bluetooth 5.0 technology, with commentators predicting Apple could bring the functionality to the old iPhone XS, iPhone X and iPhone 8 via a software update.

The Californian giant is expected to release new iPhones in September 2019, with commentators predicting a new 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch model.

The news follows the launch of Apple’s new Powerbeats Pro wireless earbuds, which have largely been well received internationally.
