Beats has officially unveiled its new flagship over-ear wireless headphones, which promise to have the best sound, noise cancellation and comfort yet from the company.

After months of leaks and speculation the new Beats 360 are here and are being positioned as a premium model. 

Among the features of the new wireless headphones, Beats says the 360 has a completely redesigned acoustic system, including bespoke drivers with three-layer diaphragms and dual neodymium magnets. The company claims the setup delivers improved bass, precision across the tonal range and reduced distortion.

Active noise cancellation is another major focus with Beats saying this latest system provides up to 1.75 times more total noise cancellation than the existing Beats Studio Pro. And a Transparency mode allows users to hear their surroundings when required.

The headphones also have Adaptive EQ, Dolby Atmos spatial audio with head tracking and a custom Beats chip which is designed to provide additional features across both Apple and Android devices.

For Apple users, that includes one-touch pairing, Siri support, automatic switching between devices and Find My integration. For Android users, expect Fast Pair and compatibility with Google’s Find Hub.

This new range also has a customisable feature, allowing users can swap the ear and headband cushions. Beats 360 headphones come with colour-matched Performance Knit cushions and additional cushion kits are available in various colours and materials.

The headphones are also the first over-ear Beats model to receive an IPX4 sweat and water-resistance rating so they’re suited to exercise and outdoor use.

Battery life is rated at up to 32 hours, while a five-minute Fast Fuel charge can give up to an hour of playback. USB-C is used for charging.

Beats 360 are priced at A$499.95 and are available in Black, Cloud, Pink and Sky. Optional cushion kits are also available, with pricing starting at A$14.95 under a current introductory offer. 

Beats 360 are available to order now, and are out in stores from September 24.
