The much awaited Samsung Galaxy Ring has finally materialised. It has been offically launched at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
Samsung didn’t offer much detail about the Ring but it did indicate it was centred around health and wellness, according to Engadget & The Verge who reported the launch.
It will be available in three colours: platinum silver, gold and ceramic black, the publications says.
A reporter at The Verge scored a hands-on with the Ring ahead of the congress. “I also got a sense of Samsung’s bigger goals for this new product line, which it sees as not just another wearable – but part of the company’s vision for a future of ambient sensing,” the reporter said.
The report says the Galaxy Ring is lighter than it looks and doesn’t feel that dense. It says the Ring comes in a big range of sizes from 5 to 13 in US ring sizes.
It will compete with the Oura ring with features such as period and fertility tracking, a report says. The Galaxy Ring reportedly comes with the same health and fitness tracking options as with Galaxy Watch.
Pricing and availability are unknown at this stage.
