Following a released report showing early pictures and specs of Motorola’s next generation foldable smartphone, rumours surrounding the device have been stirring up online. Now, insider and analyst Ross Young has confirmed those rumours, and added that the new phone, codenamed “Maven” will boast bigger displays.
Early reports speculated that the third gen Razr (Razr 3) would be much smoother and modern in aesthetic, abandoning the fat bottom bezel and taking some visual queues from the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. On top of that, Young has stated that the display will be 6.7” as opposed to the previous 6.2” display on the Razr 5G. The cover display is also getting a bump in size, from 2.7” to 3”.

Other leaked information said that the new display will boast a 120Hz refresh rate, Full HD+ resolution and a 20:9 aspect ratio. The Razr 3’s cameras are anticipated to be a 32MP on the front, a 50MP main and a 13MP ultrawide sensor that may also serve as a macro sensor. Specs are expected to top out at 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, with a 2,800mAh battery.
The chipset is likely to be the famed Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but a beefier model may include the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 Plus. The Razr 3 expected to be announced in late July or early August in China, and later for international markets.
