Microsoft Announce Special Surface Event October
Microsoft has announced a special Surface event in New York City on October 2, which could serve as the company’s official launching of its dual-screen Surface device, codenamed “Centaurus”.
For the past two years, Microsoft has been hard at work developing its very own dual-screen tablet/laptop hybrid, and earlier this year, successfully demonstrated a prototype during an internal meeting.
Invitations have already been sent out to several members of the press, which featured a Surface logo against a black background.
The exact agenda of this year’s event remains unclear, although Microsoft typically uses these events to unveil new devices and updates throughout its line.
Along with the possible dual-screen Surface unveiling, it is expected that hardware and software updates to Microsoft’s current line of Surface devices will be seen at the event.
Last year’s event saw the launch of the Surface Pro 6 hybrid, Surface Studio 2, and the new line of Surface Headphones, along with several software announcements.
