KEF Unveil New LCR Speaker

British hi-fi brand KEF has announced a compact new LCR channel speaker designed to fit seamlessly into a home theatre system.

The versatile Q250c can act as a left, right, or centre channel speaker, and uses KEF’s Uni-Q driver array to deliver more detailed and accurate natural sound to listeners in any part of the room.

Unlike the bigger Q650c centre speaker, the Q250c has no rear port, allowing it to be placed in a confined space like a cabinet without affecting bass performance.

KEF claims its newly designed bass drivers also produce cleaner bass at higher volumes.

The company recommends an amplifier between 10 – 100 watts.

The speakers are tipped to release in October but local pricing and availability is still to be confirmed.
