McIntosh & Sonos Faber Sold To US Group
McIntosh Group whose products are distributed in Australia by Melbourne based Synergy Audio, has been acquired by a US Investment Company.
Highlander Partners a Texas based private investment firm snapped up the business for an unknown price, it follows hot on the heels of the acquisition of Sound United and Sennheiser by medical related Companies.
McIntosh Group is the parent company of McIntosh and Sonus Faber who products are widely sold in Australia.
Earlier this week McIntosh released a new retro AM/FM tuner complete with power meters.
The Group is who distribute products for Pro-Ject and Rotel, also supplies high-end in-car audio solutions to the likes of Jeep and Maserati they also own high-end distributor Sumiko and Fine Sounds UK, and Fine Sounds Benelux.
the key product in the group is the McIntosh brand that also owned their own showroom house in New York.
Established in 1949, McIntosh amplifiers are designed engineered and hand built in New York.
Known globally for their iconic signature design – classic tubes, knobs, and the blue metered faceplate – as well as their powerful audio quality the brand is a popular seller in Australia.
Another key brand in the group is Sonus Faber, a luxury designer and manufacturer of premium speakers. Based in Vicenza, Italy, the brand’s heritage centres around its artisans’ craftsmanship, which has seen the creation of some elegant audio products in the past.
