Security software pioneers McAfee has been sold to a private equity consortium led by Advent International for US$14 billion (A$18.98b) making it the largest online security acquisition in history.
The consortium, which also includes Canada Pension Plan Investments, GIC Private Limited, the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority, Crosspoint Capital, and Permira Advisers, will pay US$26 per share in an all-cash deal.
