ASX-listed Macquarie Telecom has recorded a strong first half for its 2018 financial year, with revenue up 8pc to $114.9 million, and net profit after tax of $8 million, up 29 percent.
Capital expenditure came in at $8 million as MacTel looked to expand its Intellicentre 2 capacity along with $6.5 million on a Datahall 4 fitout. Full year EBITDA is tipped at $44-46 million
CEO David Tudehope commented: “Sustained growth in profitability over the last seven halves has allowed Macquarie to consider opportunities to invest for future growth. We are well positioned to continue to benefit from the megatrends of cloud and cyber security”.
He said the business would decide in the next three months whether to buy or build more datacentre capacity.
