$120,000 Samsung Ultra HD 105″ TV Goes On Sale

$120,000 Samsung Ultra HD 105" TV Goes On Sale

The UN105S9, a super-sized curved television capable of displaying a 4K-resolution image, is the world’s most expensive TV with the price tag far higher than any other television in the company’s entire S9 television range, including last year’s $40,000 85″ TV.

With a native resolution of 5120×2160 and a 21:9 aspect ratio, the screen uses “proprietary picture quality” algorithms for optimizing colour, while an Auto Depth Enhancer will analyse sections of the display and automatically adjust contrast for a greater sense of depth. As well as being able to upscale 1080p content to 4K and displaying 3D video, The Verge reports the television includes Samsung’s smart TV system powered by a quad-core processor, complete with voice control and the ability to use Samsung’s Evolution Kit to upgrade next year.

On the back are four HDMI 2.0 ports, four USB ports, Ethernet, component, and composite inputs, as well as audio output ports. Though it is supplied in a frame, it is also wall mountable, and can be installed by the “Samsung Elite Service,” namely an installation team which guides the owner on the set’s features, as well as calibrating the television on-site.

The TV will not be sold by Harvey Norman or JB Hi Fi, instead interested parties will have to contact Samsung directly. As part of the sticker price Samsung will come out and set up the new TV.
