Low-Cost Vid-Conf Gear Launched

A new Logitech videoconferencing product, announced globally in February, will be available in Australia from May 1. The Logitech Group comprises a camera, omnidirectional table microphone, speakerphone and remote control and is designed to be a low-cost option for organisations wanting to hold conferences with up to 14 people (20 with an optional extension microphone).

Positioned as filling a gap between conferencing via a PC and a fully-functioned videoconferencing system, it is designed to be connected to a PC and be compatible with popular collaboration platforms: Microsoft Lync, Skype for Business, Cisco Jabber and Cisco WebEx.

The Group retails for $A1599, while the expansion microphone costs $489. It is presently available only through Logitech resellers. However availability through retail outlets is a possibility in the future. – Stuart Corner
