German consumer electronics manufacturer Loewe has achieved one of its strongest performances to date at the 2026 Red Dot Design Awards, securing major recognition for both its newly launched AI-powered headphones and its latest television range.

The company received the prestigious Red Dot: Best of the Best distinction for its debut headphones, the Loewe leo, marking the first time in the brand’s history it has earned the competition’s highest accolade. The headphones were awarded a perfect score of 100 points by the judging panel.

The result represents a significant milestone for the premium audio and visual brand, which has built its reputation on combining advanced technology with high-end industrial design.

Judges praised the Loewe leo headphones for their balance of aesthetics, functionality and material selection. The product marks the company’s entry into the growing premium headphone market and reflects its broader strategy of expanding beyond traditional television and home entertainment categories.

Loewe chief executive Aslan Khabliev said the award reinforced the company’s focus on delivering premium experiences through sound quality, design and craftsmanship.

The recognition also highlights the increasing importance manufacturers place on product design in a crowded technology market, where visual appeal and user experience often play a significant role in purchasing decisions.

Marco A. Müller, Director of Design and Design Management at Loewe, said the development process focused heavily on achieving the right balance between comfort, performance and appearance. According to Müller, every aspect of the headphones was carefully considered, from material selection to tactile interaction.

The company also secured a separate Red Dot Award in the Product Design category for its new Loewe vega television.

Available in 32-inch and 42-inch models, the television was recognised for its minimalist design language and use of sustainable materials. The set features slim aluminium frames manufactured from recycled materials, while the rear panel incorporates structured plastics designed to reduce environmental impact without compromising aesthetics.

According to Loewe, the vega series was developed to address a gap in the market for compact televisions that combine premium 4K picture quality with high-end design and sustainability credentials.

The judges highlighted the television’s clean lines, balanced proportions and understated appearance, noting its ability to integrate into contemporary living spaces while maintaining a distinctive visual identity.

The awards come at a time when manufacturers are increasingly using design as a key differentiator in the premium consumer electronics sector. Beyond technical specifications, brands are placing greater emphasis on materials, sustainability and how products fit within modern homes.
