LG V20 To Run Android 7.0 Nougat: IFA Launch On The Cards?

LG is set to unveil its LG V20 smartphone next month, which will arrive running Android 7.0 Nougat, and which could potentially be launched at IFA 2016.

LG has today revealed details of the V20’s upcoming release via its LG Korea website, confirming that it plans to launch the phone in September.

It has additionally confirmed that the V20 will be running Google’s upcoming operating system, the name of which was recently revealed as Android Nougat.

LG last year launched its V10 smartphone, the first of its V series phones, at the beginning of October, meaning that if the V20 is slated for an IFA launch that it will be launching around a month earlier in the year than its predecessor, with IFA running September 2-7.

While LG last week delivered strong quarter two results, its mobile communications division posted an operating loss, with LG stating the loss reflected increased marketing expenditures and “somewhat slow” initial sales of its LG G5 smartphone.

“The launch of the new V series and expanding sales of mass-tier K and X series models are expected to improve the business unit’s performance next quarter,” LG stated upon release of the results.
