Garmin’s New CIRQA Smart Band Ditches the Screen and Subscriptions
Garmin has entered the growing screen-free wearable category with the launch of its CIRQA Smart Band. The health and fitness tracker is designed to provide wearers with continuous monitoring without a display or mandatory subscription fees.
The new wearable is a departure from Garmin’s traditional smartwatch range and targets consumers who want health insights without screen distractions. Users can access data from the device via Garmin’s Connect app rather than on the band itself.
CIRQA tracks a range of health and fitness metrics, including heart rate, stress, respiration, blood oxygen levels, skin temperature, sleep patterns and recovery indicators. It can also automatically detect and record more than 80 activities. Users can review and edit their activity data through the Garmin Connect platform.
The lightweight band is designed for continuous wear and offers up to 10 days of battery life and a fabric strap that can be worn either on the wrist or as an armband. Garmin says the screen-free design is intended to reduce distractions while still providing access to detailed health and wellness data.

A key point of differentiation for CIRQA is its subscription-free model, positioning it against competitors in the wearable space that require ongoing payments for access to advanced health insights.
The device also integrates with Garmin’s wider ecosystem, allowing users of existing Garmin products to access health data alongside their other connected devices. Women’s health tracking features are also included, such as skin temperature monitoring during sleep for menstrual cycle insights and pregnancy tracking.
The launch is in line with a shift in the wearable market away from feature-heavy smartwatches towards more discreet wearables that focus on health monitoring, sleep tracking and recovery.
Garmin’s CIRQA Smart Band is priced at A$299 and is available in multiple colours and sizes.
