Dick Smith Recalls Fire Prone DVD Players

Dick Smith Recalls Fire Prone DVD Players

The product recall follows an incident in August when a Dick Smith portable DVD player exploded in the lap of 3 year old Ava Lyons, leaving her with severe burns on her face and fingers.

Like the portable DVD player used by Ava, the fire risk stems from the “internal lithium-ion rechargeable battery.”

The recalled products (featured) were sold between November of 2009 to July of 2012 in Australian and New Zealand Dick Smith stores.

Dick Smith is urging anyone who owns one of the above portable DVD players to stop using them immediately and return them at any Dick Smith store for a full refund.
