JBL Launch Much Delayed Android ‘Link Bar’

JBL has finally released its perennially delayed ‘Link Bar’ in the United States – a hybrid product which integrates Android-TV functionality within a sound bar.

The news comes after the product missed its last two release windows, after being unveiled back in May 2018.

Reported by Android Police, the Link Bar (US$399.95) is listed as “ready to ship” on JBL’s US Store, with its UK Store advising stock should be ready by July 18, 2019.

Whilst Australian availability and pricing is yet to be officially confirmed, the overseas launch suggests the wait could nearly be over.

The Link Bar is a revolutionary smart home device, with Google deeming it the “first in a series of hybrid devices that delivers a full Assistant speaker and Android TV experience.”

The product’s extended delay has ignited commentator curiosity as to whether it will perform as claimed.
