JBL Link Bar Delayed Again

Despite promising again and again that the JBL Link Bar is on its way to consumers, it appears the soundbar is being delayed for the second time.

Previously, JBL pledged to ship the Link Bar by the end of 2018, and JBL Australia still has not opened pre-orders for the long-awaited soundbar.

It was meant to begin shipping in the coming months, not it appears that shipping will not commence until July 1st in the US.

Spotted by Android Police, JBL further confirmed the delay in a statement to the publication.

“The JBL LINK Bar’s in-market availability is now planned for mid-to-late summer. We look forward to bringing this dynamic, smart soundbar to consumers,” read the statement.

First unveiled in at Google I/O in May 2018, JBL declared the Link Bar as the first Android TV-powered soundbar/streaming device to feature built-in Google Assistant.

JBL claims the Link Bar can turn any TV “regardless of make or model” into a smart TV, however, these continuous delays hint that perfecting this feature is proving more difficult than expected.

As previously reported, B&H Photo Video opened pre-orders for the Link Bar in the US back in August, with shipping to Australia coming to approximately AU$580.

It looks like consumers are going to have to hold out a little longer, if they are still even holding on anymore, to get their hands on this hybrid smart soundbar.
