Jabra Launch 4K Panoramic Plug & Play Video Solution

Danish audio equipment manufacturer, Jabra, has released its world-first panoramic 4K plug-and-play ‘PanaCast’ video solution in Australia, targeting smaller office spaces and huddle rooms.

Offering a unique 180-degree plug-and-play video experience, the product also leverages Jabra’s 150 years of audio experience.

Launched at an exclusive partner event in Sydney, the real-time intelligent vision system delivers wall-to-wall video, audio and data for modern day video collaboration.

The product claims to eliminate around 40% of wastage seen with conventional camera solutions.

“This new product combines Jabra’s 150-year expertise in sound with industry-first video technology to deliver the most collaborative meeting room experience to date,” claims Jabra Managing Director ANZ, David Piggott.

“In March 2019, we announced the acquisition of California based start-up Altia Systems, amalgamating PanaCast within the Jabra family.”

The news comes as video solution demand continues to rise, with 68% of Australian employers allowing for remote working, and ‘huddle room’ demand growing at a CAGR of 35%.

The Jabra PanaCast incorporates three 13MP cameras, underpinned by a built-in Jabra PanaCast Vision Processor – the multi-camera array offering an immersive 180-degree field of view for close collaboration.

The product allows developers and partners to receive real-time information, with advanced AI harnessing a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) counting the number of people in a field of view, up to 12 metres away.

The device can easily clip onto a computer screen or be placed on a small stand, and is also wall-mountable.

“The market response is already promising,” affirms Mr Piggott.

“We want to challenge the market with a solution that offers the best in audio, video and data”

“Users report a four-time growth in video-based meetings and a nearly 20 per cent reduction in meeting duration.”

The PanaCast solution is said to be Microsoft Teams certified, and is compatible with Skype, Zoom, Slack, Google HangOuts and more.
