Klipsch Take On Airpods With T5 Range

Klipsch has introduced a suite of new wireless earphones promising high-quality audio to compete in an increasingly crowded personal audio market.

The T5 series of earphones use the same approach to acoustic engineering and industrial design as the companies renowned home theatre speakers.

Four models make up the T5 range of earbuds: true wireless ($349), neckband ($199), sport ($169) and wired ($99).

The wireless pairs use Bluetooth 5, and support aptX for higher quality and lower latency playback, while IPX4 sweat and water resistance help all the earbuds in the range stand up to the elements.

The top-of-the-range true wireless model is set to go up against popular models from non-traditional audio brands like Apple’s class-dominating Airpods and Samsung’s Galaxy Buds.

The Klipsch model offers 8 hours of battery life on the buds with an additional 24 hours of charge available via the included case, which recharges via USB-C.

Four microphones allow for calls, ambient noise reduction, and one-press interaction with digital assistants on a connected device, such as the Google Assistant or Siri.

The T5 neckband are claimed to provide 15 hours of battery life, with a leather wrapped vibrating neckband that notifies listeners of notifications and calls.

Dual microphones provide clearer calls and a three-button remote allows for control over music playback.

Similar controls are available on the Sport model, but it only has one microphone.

The T5 Sport does boast a 10 hour battery life and has an adjustable neckband and winged ear tips to ensure a secure fit during exercise.

Klipsch also offers a wired version of the T5 earphones with a single button microphone and remote built-in to the cable.

Like all the T5 models, the wired pair use Klipsch’s patented oval ear tips and full bass dynamic drivers.

Klipsch is also gearing up to release its free Connect App this summer, allowing users to monitor battery levels, adjust EQ settings, and update the firmware on their wireless T5 buds.

The T5 range is available now through authorised Klipsch dealers, distributed by QualiFi.
