Indi Imports has secured the Australian distribution rights for Tonewinner, with a selection of the Chinese audio manufacturer’s home theatre and Hi-Fi products set to reach local authorised dealers from November.

The distribution agreement will expand Tonewinner’s presence in Australia, where many of its products have previously been difficult to source through official retail channels.

Indi Imports said it would review recommended retail pricing to bring Australian prices closer to those offered in overseas markets, while providing local dealer support, consumer education and after-sales service.

“We believe Tonewinner deserves attention, respect and proper representation in Australia,” Indi Imports managing director Paul Riachi said.

“Indi Imports is the company that will honour that commitment by supporting authorised dealers, educating consumers and ensuring that the brand’s impressive range is presented in the way it was intended.”

Riachi said Tonewinner’s manufacturing experience, build quality and comparatively affordable pricing made the brand an attractive addition during a difficult period for the consumer electronics industry.

Tonewinner chief executive Michael Li said Indi Imports’ retail network and experience in premium audio would help the company improve service and support for Australian customers.

Tonewinner has operated for more than 30 years and produces a broad range of audio equipment, including AV processors, receivers, power amplifiers, integrated stereo amplifiers, CD players, soundbars, speakers and subwoofers.

Its higher-end home theatre products support formats including Dolby Atmos, Dolby TrueHD and DTS, with some processors offering configurations of up to 16 channels, balanced XLR connections and room optimisation technology.

The company also produces multi-channel and stereo Class AB power amplifiers featuring toroidal transformers, alongside two-channel Hi-Fi components and more compact soundbar and soundbase systems.

Indi Imports said the range would cater to customers spanning entry-level home theatre buyers, audiophiles and professional custom installers.

A selected Tonewinner line-up will become available through authorised Australian dealers from November.

Local pricing, participating retailers and the specific products included in the initial range have not yet been announced.
