IFA 2025: Under Pressure In The Conventional Cooking Market Miele Now Has A Crack At Outdoor
Struggling to maintain its foothold in the premium indoor cooking segment, German appliance maker Miele has announced its entry into the outdoor cooking market with a new modular kitchen lineup.
At its IFA 2025 press conference in Berlin, Miele chose to present the announcement entirely in German, with no English translation provided. The move comes as the company faces pressures across multiple global markets and seeks to capitalize on emerging trends in digitalisation, product longevity, and demand for customised, streamlined solutions.
“In an increasingly complex world, our customers are looking for reliable innovations that simplify everyday life and create special moments. This is exactly what we deliver with our new products at IFA,” said Dr. Reinhard Zinkann, Executive Director and Co-Proprietor at Miele. “They are at the core of our Cooking Innovation Initiative and embody the highest standards in quality, design, innovation, and sustainability. In doing so, we are ushering in a new era of cooking.”
Expanding the Miele Experience Outdoors
With the introduction of its “Outdoor Cooking” category, Miele aims to bring its premium cooking experience into the growing outdoor lifestyle market. “More and more people around the world are discovering the outdoor living lifestyle,” said Dr. Axel Kniehl, Executive Director Marketing & Sales. “With Dreams, we are now bringing the special Miele cooking experience outdoors for the first time. This modular outdoor kitchen can be customised and combines minimalist design, intelligent technology, and Miele’s premium standards. Our customers can enjoy special moments and perfect results with family and friends, all with the trusted Miele quality – both indoors and outdoors. It sets a new benchmark for outdoor cooking.”
Modular Design and Smart Technology
The Dreams outdoor kitchen is built around individually combinable modules, including gas barbecues, hobs, sinks, and outdoor refrigerators, complemented by more than 60 coordinated accessories. A standout feature is the “Fire Pro IQ,” an intelligent gas barbecue that automatically regulates temperature and grills entire dishes independently. Controlled via an integrated display or the Miele app, it ensures consistent results without constant supervision and includes an AutoClean mode for easy maintenance.
Miele’s entry into outdoor cooking represents a strategic expansion of its product range, aiming to merge premium design, cutting-edge technology, and convenience for a new generation of outdoor culinary enthusiasts.
