Sony Xperia 2 Leak Ahead Of IFA 2019
Consumers have been given a glimpse of the Sony Xperia 2 with renders surfacing ahead of its officially announcement at IFA 2019.
The news comes after ChannelNews reported Sony’s exit from the Australian smartphone market, due to poor sales and reluctance by carriers to stock their products.
Courtesy of WinFuture’s Roland Quandt, via Sony fansite Xperia blog, the renders give a look at all angles of the device, plus showcases three upcoming colours – black, blue and dark red.
The announcement comes as the market for mid-range smartphones continue to heat up in Australia, with brands like LG, Oppo and Xiaomi, amongst others, all recently releasing their own devices.
Though no official confirmation yet, the device seems to have retained the 21:9 aspect ratio display and triple camera setup on the back (now on the top left instead of in the centre), going by the leaked renders.
The bottom of the phone looks to be home to a USB-C port and won’t be coming with a 3.5mm headphone jack.
As for specs, it is expected that Sony will stock with the Snapdragon 855 chipset, and will come with at least 6GB of RAM and 128GB storage.
Other rumoured specs include the device having a smaller 6.1-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2520, while the dimensions are said to measure 158 x 68.3 x 8.3mm.
