IFA 2016: ZTE Unveils The Warp 7, Australian Release Unlikely

Just in time for this year’s IFA Conference in Berlin, Chinese smartphone player ZTE have launched their low-end Warp 7 handset.

The Warp 7 bears on 5.5-inch Gorilla Glass 3-coated HD display on the front and a 13-megapixel camera on the back.

Meanwhile, under the hood, it’s packing a 1.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 410 processor and 2GB or RAM.

At an affordable pricepoint of US$99, the package is rounded out nicely by a 5-megapixel camera on the front and 16GB of internal memory (with support for up to 64GB expansion via SD cards).

Unfortunately, an Australian release for the Warp 7 seems like an uncertain possibility..

ChannelNews reached out and spoke to ZTE Australia, who indicated that a variant of the device could come to Australian customers but, at this time, it’s not something that’s on the cards.

They said their focus is currently on the higher-specced Axon 7.

Expect more from the company as IFA unfolds.
