Space and food tech will feature for the first time at CES 2022, as the consumer tech expo looks to expand following this year’s virtual event.
Sierra Space will show off its Dream Chaser spaceplane in the space tech category, while food tech will feature exhibitors such as Impossible Foods and John Deere, and will explore areas such as meal kits and plant-based proteins.
The two new categories will display innovations in increasingly important categories, said Karen Chupka, EVP, CES at the Consumer Technology Association.
“Every year, CES showcases the latest innovations from legacy and emerging technology sectors – and everything in between.
“Technology is propelling the space and food industries to new heights and CES is the perfect platform to showcase this growth and bring together our industry,” she said.
CES 2022 is planned to be a hybrid event following this year’s all-virtual showcase, and is slated for January 5-8 with COVID safety measures in place.
