Google Flights To Destroy Skyscanner?

Google Flights To Destroy Skyscanner?Motor mouth CEO of budget airline Ryanair, Michael O’Leary, has let it slip – ‘Google Flight Search’ price compare site, may be landing on a screen near you in March.

“There are some very exciting developments with Google, where we have been working with them on sharing the pricing,” O’ Leary told Irish newspaper Sunday Independent.
The new service is likely to be an upgrade of current Google Flights, which lists flights by price, time and number of stops.
“We’ll be sharing the Ryanair pricing through all of the Google outlets, so when you go in, there’ll be route selections, cheapest prices and so on. Google are developing a price-comparison thing themselves.
Users hit up the Google Search to get the best flight price, and then be redirected to the airline’s website, similar to the Skycanner, while Webjet and Expedia charge a fee and manage the booking.
“They want to launch with us and we’re working with them on that kind of product.
“It’ll blow comparison sites like Skyscanner out of the water”, said the bombastic boss of Europe’s biggest airline, which has, of late, decided to adopt a softer approach to customer services.
Google will make money from ads as it wishes to features all airlines on the flight search, so won’t be charging the airlines, as “they don’t want to have a limited or biased search. They want to be able to say they’ve screened all of these airlines on all of the routes,” he said.
“They need to find who has got the lowest airfare on these routes… and that’s us.”
Yeah, but what about all those extra charges, Michael?
