Major OZ Retailers Flock To Magento Live Event
Among retailers who have moved to the Magento platform is Dick Smith and Big Lee.
This year several retailers have moved to invest in new platforms after their existing sites were exposed due to the Click Frenzy debacle in November 2012.
Among the services being integrated by retailers in Australia is the Webcollage rich media content engine which is currently live with several major online retailers who are now serving hundreds of SKU’s containing rich media content such as video, interactive tours and image libraries.
The Webcollage service can be delivered via the Magento platform.
Roy Rubin, Magento’s COO and co-founder, will deliver the keynote address focusing on the evolution of retail, with key developments and future trends impacting multichannel, mobile, in-store and global and local competition.
“As consumer behaviour continues to drive shifts in retail, Australian retailers must deliver seamless experiences across every platform and at every point of engagement,” Mr Rubin said. “Partnering with some of Australia’s leading commerce companies, Magento continues to source the best technology and the best system integrators for merchants, arming them with the choice, flexibility and value necessary to drive unique brand experiences with their customers.”
Magento customer presentations will include:
. Active Skin: Justin Milwidsky and Tommy Shao at Netstarter will join Active Skin CEO Ben Wyeth, in a discussion on the importance of design in seamless multi-screen integration. Active Skin, which just last week re-launched its website, is the biggest pure play retailer of cosmetics in Australia.
. Nike: Dean Flynn of IEAgency and Amy Singe of Sterling & Hyde are presenting one of Australia’s largest multichannel retail success stories. IEAgency helped Nike:
Develop an interactive in-store experience using RFID technology, tablets and banks of TV screens
Leverage Nike’s “Nike She Runs the Night” event to deliver a unique customer engagement experience
In addition, customer success stories across fashion, toys and more are being highlighted throughout the event.
Magento, an eBay company, is an open-source eCommerce platform that enables merchants and brands to create and control their online storefronts.
