Homescreen Revamp Coming To Android

Reports say that Google will be bringing major changes to the homescreen of their upcoming Nexus device.

Android Police posted GIFs of the interface changes in action, showcasing the changes coming to the search bar, app drawer and Google Now functionality they’ll offer.

The search bar and Google Now have been consolidated into a single widget – which expands into the former when tapped and can be dragged out to reveal the latter.

Meanwhile, the app drawer is now summoned by a simple and single upward swipe.

Word is that the extra space on the homepage will be leveraged into a new calendar widget.
