Hisense has unveiled its 2026 RGB MiniLED TV lineup in Australia, using an immersive Sydney launch event to showcase how next-gen display technology is moving beyond traditional home entertainment and into lifestyle, design and digital art.

The launch centred on Hisense’s new UR9 and UR8 RGB MiniLED series, with the company positioning the tech as a major step forward in colour accuracy, brightness and immersive viewing.

The standout feature was a collaboration with Australian artist and musician Daimon Downey (pictured below left) – formerly of Sneaky Sound System – who used the RGB MiniLED displays as a digital canvas.

The performance explored the core RGB colour spectrum – red, green and blue – through layered visuals, motion and sound.

The event also highlighted Hisense’s broader strategy to make premium display technology more accessible across multiple screen sizes and price points.

Downey said the technology transformed the way colour, texture and movement could be experienced on screen.

“The way the displays reproduce colour, movement and texture gives the work a completely different level of depth and immersion,” he said. “It transforms the screen into something that feels less like a device and more like a living visual experience.”

Hisense claims its RGB MiniLED architecture delivers improved colour precision by using individually controlled red, green and blue MiniLEDs, achieving up to 100% of the BT.2020 colour spectrum.

The company said the tech is designed to improve viewing across movies, gaming and sport, while also performing better in bright Australian living spaces due to anti-reflection and glare-free technology.

The UR9 and UR8 ranges also include 180Hz refresh rates and multi-channel audio systems tuned by French audio specialist Devialet.

Kevin Ke, Managing Director of Hisense Australia and New Zealand, said the company’s focus is no longer just about specifications, but creating experiences consumers connect with emotionally.

“Innovation today isn’t only about technical capability, it’s about creating experiences that people genuinely connect with,” he said.

Hisense is also continuing to push the premium end of the market, confirming its massive 116-inch UXS RGB MiniLED evo TV, which was first revealed at CES 2026.

The broader UR8 range starts from $2,299 for a 55-inch model, while the flagship 85-inch UR9 is priced at $6,999.
