For the first time, Rugby League fans can watch the NRL Telstra Premiership live on their iPhone or Android mobile, on the new NRL app, launched today by Telstra.

And you won’t lose out even if you’re on Vodafone, Optus or another network, you can still watch League games live at the same time they’re on TV on the free NRL LIVE 2013 App powered by Telstra, who have exclusive mobile rights to the games.

However, Telstra customers won’t be charged for data streaming and app browsing costs, unlike others.

If you want to see all the games live it’ll cost you – a premium weekly pass costs $5.49 – iOS only, monthly $14.99 or annual pass for $89.99 for NRL Live 2013 Premium content.

Premium viewers also get access to live post-match press conferences.

But its not just Sharks V Bulldogs games the app will be good for – the NRL paid content will also show Finals Series, Grand Final, Anzac Test, U20’s Origin and Country v City matches, all live.

Even if you don’t fork out for the pass, the free app gives live scores, full match replays and highlights, 2013 NRL Telstra Premiership draw and other news.

Telstra Media Group Managing Director Rick Ellis said the launch of NRL LIVE 2013 was a landmark moment for the game’s fans.

“Our partnership with the NRL is built around using technology to bring fans closer to the game, particularly if they can’t be there on match day.”

“The ability to watch live coverage on-the-go – regardless of their mobile network carrier – gives fans more ways to enjoy the game they love.”

The official NRL Dream Team fantasy and tipping games and the new NRL.com website – add to what is set to be an unprecedented experience for Rugby League fans in 2013 .

NRL CEO Dave Smith said “we want fans to have the best possible access to The Greatest Game of All and the new NRL LIVE 2013 App will bring members and fans closer to the action.
