Google News Is Getting A Makeover

Google is set to change its news platform, Google News by adding YouTube videos and incorporating parts of the Newsstand app.

According to people familiar with the matter, it will be a ‘consolidation of all the ways you can interact with news on Google’. Google wants to bring all of its news under one service.

AdAge reports, Google will be incorporating its digital magazine app Google Newsstand and the news section of YouTube and use the technology behind Accelerated Mobile Pages, which gives a faster upload time for publications onto Google’s results feed.

The search engine giant has been in talks with various online publications about these upcoming publications, according to the report.

Google Newsstand and the news section of YouTube will be shutdown once the new platform is launched.

Google will be unveiling the new look news platform at its developer conference in Mountain View, California next week.
