Google Moves To Expand Into 4K HDR Content

Following on from their decision to start selling 4K video content online in December last year, Alphabet have now moved to offer HDR 4K movies and TV shows on the Play Store.

A number of new release films are now being offered in 4K HDR, including Suicide SquadKong Skull Island, The Lego Batman Movie and Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them.

In a small win for customers, Google are bundling in the HDR-content with 4K purchases at the same price-point.

However, much like the December announcement, it’s not one that affects customers outside the US and Canada.

It’s understood that Google plans to roll out 4K movies to Google Play Movies in other countries in the future.
