Galaxy S9 Will Have Dual Sims
With the unveiling of the much anticipated Galaxy S9 coming soon, rumours are swirling on what will actually be in Samsung’s flagship phone and information has been released that the S9 will be equipped with dual sims.
When building a smartphone, it has to go through a number of tests and certified by various agencies, Mobielkopen discovered a certification for the S9 at the Chinese Ministry of Industry and IT (MIIT) showing the Galaxy S9 and S9 + will have a dual sim functionality.
In the database of MIIT, there were three S9 and S9+ models with the serial numbers of SM-G9600, SM-G9608 and SM-G9650, the SM-G9600 is the Chinese version of the Galaxy S9, the SM-G9608 is the Taiwan version and the SM-G9650 the Chinese version of the S9+. Mobielkopen says they all can be found in the database with the note DS meaning dual sim.
Dual sim phones have the ability to support two SIM cards at the same time, meaning you can receive calls and messages from both sim cards at the same time. Some users are also able to have a single call with two different lines.
We will just have to wait and see what happens when Samsung releases the Galaxy S9.
