Facebook Ad Platform Crashes Days Before Black Friday

Facebook’s advertising platform has reportedly crashed, just days before one of the world’s largest annual sales events – ‘Black Friday’ and ‘Cyber Monday.’

According to Business InsiderFacebook’s Ads Manager has been down for over eight hours, leaving advertisers without the ability to create new Thanksgiving, Black Friday and Cyber Monday campaigns.

Whilst the platform is known to go out from time to time, the outage is reportedly one of worst to date, specifically being two days until Thanksgiving.

In a published statement, Facebook has acknowledged the matter, asserting it’s working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.

The social media giant states campaigns which are live and running should not be affected, however, reporting may be delayed.

Considered a crucial sales period for most marketers and brands, Facebook’s outage is being slammed by many users online.

It comes as the social media giant continues to combat diminishing user trust, following several security breaches.

Commentators question the outage’s effect on Facebook’s share price, coupled with its recent stock slump. Some ad functions of Facebook-owned Instagram have reportedly also been affected.
