EXCLUSIVE: Top Executive Quits The Good Guys
Geoff Reader has quit The Good Guys, his LinkedIn page claims that he is “On sabbatical and looking for opportunities”.
Reader who joined The Good Guys in 2011 to rise to become Chief Merchandising Officer was seen by suppliers, as being part of The Good Guys “old guard”, following the acquisition of the mass appliance retailer by The Good Guys late in 2016.
Now run by Terry Smart the former CEO of JB Hi Fi the retailer is currently undergoing a major restructure, with the retailer reviewing brands, merchandising programs and their house brand strategy.
In a note to suppliers six months ago, Reader announced a significant restructuring of the Companies buying group, he described the changes as being moves that “will increase the speed to action, agility and accountability” of their merchandising and buying operation going forward.
As part of the restructure, the roles of Group General Manager and Business Manager Appliances were eliminated, also leaving the Company following the JB Hi Fi acquisition was Wayne Jennings and Denis Harvey.
These roles were replaced with the appointment of Biag Capasso as the overall General Manager of HA, Greg Wilson has been appointed General Manager of CE/TZ.
