EXCLUSIVE: Director of Blaupunkt, Seiki, Distributor Quits

A founding director of distributor Ayonz the distributor of Blaupunkt TV’s has quit.

Jierui Huang, has quit as a director of Ayonz Limited the UK operation linked with the Sydney based Company that distributes Blaupunkt, TV’s Seiki appliances and is trying to establish Toshiba Appliances in Australia in September 2019.

Huang who is believed to be a key funder of the Ayonz business is based in Shenzhen China and is a director of the Australian operation.

Her LinkedIn profile lists her as operations Director of Ayonz Global Limited since 2016.

The resignation was announced at Companies House in the UK.

Ziad Yaacoub the founder of the business in Australia is still listed as a director of both the Australian and UK operations.

Between April 2018 and December 2018, the UK operation of Ayonz which is based in East London reported that they only had 100 pounds cash in hand and debtors of pounds 2,259,757.

Trade debtors were listed at pounds 1.8M with the Company also owing 437,077 pounds.

The business reported a profit for the period of 30,274 pounds.

In Australia David Hargreaves is still listed as the General Manager of sales at Ayonz despite him making several applications for senior roles in consumer electronic Companies such as LG and Samsung during the past 18 months. We have been unable to establish whether this is a contract, part time, or commission only role.

Hargraves who is listed as starting with Ayonz in 2017, has a chequered career having been dropped by Sony he then took on a General Manager role at Topfield but this only lasted 10 months with Topfield ending up in a messy court case in the NSW Supreme Court with other executives of the Korean Company.

He has also applied for senior roles with industry distributors.

Back in April Ayonz executives who have not responded to a recent request for evidence of Google certification for their Blaupunkt TV’s told Appliance Retailer that they were now ranging more than 40 Seiki SKUs across home entertainment, whitegoods and cooking appliances in Australia.

The Seiki product offering spans televisions, refrigerators, ovens, cooktops, rangehoods, dishwashers, washing machines, dryers and split system air conditioners, sold through Appliances Online, Target Australia and other specialist retailers.

The previous distributor of Seiki appliances in Australia was placed into liquidation with questions asked about warranty claims on Seiki TV’s following the Companies collapse which took place in 2017.

At a general meeting of the Company earlier this year it was resolved that the entity be wound up and that Daniel Jean Civil be appointed liquidators in Australia.

Seiki Australia a none related entity to Seiki brand owners was liquidated in 2017.

Seiki international (Brand owner of the Seiki brand) appointed Ayonz as their Australia/New Zealand Distributor in late 2017 and they was not involved with the prior distributor.

We are still waiting for a comment from Ayonz on the resignation.
