French audio specialist Elipson has expanded its home audio range with the introduction of three new active subwoofers designed to deliver deeper, more powerful bass for music and home cinema systems.

The new Classic Sub series comprises the Classic Sub 8, Classic Sub 10 and Classic Sub 12, with each model targeting different room sizes and listening requirements.

All three subwoofers feature glass-fibre drivers, Class D amplification and digital signal processing (DSP), with Elipson promising controlled, powerful low-frequency performance.

The entry-level Classic Sub 8 features an 8-inch driver paired with a 150W amplifier. Designed for smaller living rooms and compact audio systems, it aims to improve bass performance without taking up excessive floor space.

Moving up the range, the Classic Sub 10 incorporates a larger 10-inch driver and 200W amplifier, providing additional bass output and extension for medium-sized rooms.

At the top of the range, the Classic Sub 12 features a 12-inch driver and 300W amplification. It is designed for larger living spaces and dedicated home cinemas where deeper bass and higher sound pressure levels are required.

Elipson has equipped all three models with glass-fibre cones, chosen for their lightweight yet rigid construction, which is intended to reduce distortion and improve bass control.

Another key feature is the company’s DSP Boost technology, which can provide up to 6.3dB of additional bass reinforcement at 33Hz, helping extend low-frequency performance.

The subwoofers also offer adjustable crossover controls, switchable 0° and 180° phase settings, line-level inputs and outputs, and automatic standby functionality.

These features allow users to integrate the subwoofers with a variety of stereo amplifiers, speakers and home theatre systems.

International pricing sets the Classic Sub 8 at £299 (approximately A$610), while the Classic Sub 10 costs £449 (approximately A$920) and the flagship Classic Sub 12 sells for £599 (approximately A$1,230).

Australian pricing and availability have yet to be confirmed.
