Edifier Launches NeoBuds Pro 2 Earbuds
Edifier has unveiled its new NeoBuds Pro 2 earbuds, which come with a range of features including enhanced noise cancellation, and 24bit/192kHz audio over Bluetooth.
The improved noise cancellation comes in Edifier’s patented Wide Band Multi-Channel ANC, which has been claimed to deliver a wider, deeper noise cancellation depth of up to -50dB depth and 5kHz bandwidth.
There is also an independent feed forward channel that “applies the noise reduction ability of the Knowles RAN Balanced Armature Driver to the hybrid ANC channels.”
Performance can be personalised, with choices of a high ANC level, or low ANC level. An ambient sound mode allows external sounds to pass through the ears, making the user aware of the surroundings, and wind reduction supports reduced noise.
Edifier claims calls have been improved with 4+4 built-in microphones that work in conjunction with an AI voice pick-up algorithm which filters out environmental and wind noise.
Some other features include “Immersive Spatial Audio with Virtualised Head Tracking technology,” which uses a built in gyrometer and accelerometer to track head movements, and adjust the soundstage.
These buds support Bluetooth 5.3 with SBC, AAC, LHDC, and LDAC codecs. There is also a new codec named LHDC 5.0 HD, which has been claimed allow the streaming of 24bit/192kHz over Bluetooth.
There is also a Knowles balanced armature driver, and composite diaphragm dynamic drivers.
Battery life lasts 22 hours with the charging case, with support for fast charging, however there’s been no word on wireless charging. The Edifier Connect app allows added personalization and customisation.
The original NeoBuds Pro became an award winner when first launched a few years ago. The NeoBuds Pro 2 appear to repeat this, with features expected in a true wireless product costing twice as much.
The NeoBuds Pro 2 cost $169.99 AUD, and are currently on sale from the official Edifier website for $152.99 AUD. They are available in black and ivory.
