EA Posts Record Bookings As $55 Billion Takeover Looms
Electronic Arts (EA) has delivered record annual net bookings and operating cash flow, helped by the launch of Battlefield 6 and growth across its live services portfolio – as the company nears a proposed US$55 billion (A$84 billion) takeover.
The gaming giant reported FY26 net bookings of US$8.03 billion (A$12.3 billion), up 9% year-on-year, while net revenue rose 1% to US$7.53 billion (A$11.5 billion) for the year ended March 31.
EA said Battlefield 6 was the best-performing title in the franchise’s history for a fiscal year, setting multiple records. Its Global Football business, led by EA Sports FC 26, FC Online and FC Mobile, also grew mid-single digits.

Apex Legends rebounded strongly in the fourth quarter, delivering its best bookings quarter of the fiscal year and finishing FY26 up double digits.
For the fourth quarter, EA reported net revenue of US$2.12 billion (A$3.25 billion), up from US$1.9 billion (A$2.9 billion) a year earlier. Net income rose to US$461 million (A$706 million), compared with US$254 million (A$389 million) in the prior corresponding period. Diluted earnings per share increased to US$1.81 (A$2.77).
Annual operating cash flow climbed 23% to US$2.55 billion (A$3.9 billion), which EA said was a record.

The results come as EA moves closer to being taken private under a proposed US$55 billion (A$84 billion) all-cash acquisition by a consortium including Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund, Silver Lake and Affinity Partners.
EA said only a limited number of regulatory reviews remain outstanding. Because of the pending deal, the company will not hold an earnings conference call this quarter.
Chief executive Andrew Wilson said EA’s record year reflected “disciplined execution” and strong performance from its major franchises.
EA also declared a quarterly cash dividend of US$0.19 (A$0.29) per share, payable on June 17 to shareholders of record on May 27.
