Dolby Atmos Music Now Streaming At Tidal

TIDAL has added Dolby Atmos Music to its 24-bit audio streaming service proclaiming the ‘next era of music has arrived’.

Thousands of Dolby Atmos tracks have arrived at the TIDAL platform from Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group for hi-fi audiophiles to listen and enjoy.

Subscribers of the TIDAL Hi-Fi Tier will have access, with a new subscription costing $23.99 after a 30-day-free trial.

The library will include modern favourites like The Weekend, Ariana Grande and current TIDAL owner, Jay-Z, with many more on the way next year.

Dolby Atmos adds to the plethora of hi-res audio already available on the platform, including TIDAL Master tracks – ‘recordings directly from the master source,’ or what they call, ‘an audio experience as the artist intended’.

TIDAL will automatically default to output in Dolby Atmos, with compatible tracks identified with a Dolby logo.

There will also be a new menu to explore all Dolby Atmos tracks available on TIDAL.

‘Dolby Atmos will give music fans the ability to enjoy the best possible audio quality,’ claims Chief Operating Officer at TIDAL, Lior Tibon.

John Couling, Senior Vice President, Commercial Partnerships, Dolby Laboratories believes the surround sound technology ‘is redefining how music is created, allowing artists and fans to experience it like never before’.

‘Together with TIDAL, we are expanding the reach of Dolby Atmos Music by enabling a more immersive way for people around the world to enjoy their favourite songs and albums’.
