DJI Osmo Pocket 4P Adds Second Camera For The First Time In Pocket Series
DJI is preparing to launch its most advanced pocket-sized camera yet, with the new Osmo Pocket 4P set for a global debut on May 14 during the Cannes Film Festival in France.
The compact gimbal camera introduces a major upgrade for DJI’s popular Pocket series, adding a second camera for the first time.
Alongside the familiar 1-inch primary sensor, the Pocket 4P features a dedicated 3x telephoto lens, giving creators greater flexibility for portrait shots, interviews and cinematic framing without relying heavily on digital zoom.

Early teaser material and industry leaks suggest the main camera will retain a wide-angle focal length similar to the recently released Osmo Pocket 4, while the new telephoto lens is expected to deliver around a 60mm to 70mm equivalent field of view.
DJI has also confirmed the inclusion of a dual-camera system and a 1-inch sensor setup.
The Pocket 4P appears aimed directly at content creators looking for professional-style shooting in a highly portable form factor. Reports indicate support for 10-bit D-Log recording, upgraded ActiveTrack 7.0 subject tracking, a brighter rotating touchscreen and improved battery life. A variable aperture system and up to 12x hybrid zoom are also tipped.

The launch also comes as competition heats up in the compact creator camera market, with Insta360 recently teasing its own dual-lens pocket gimbal device.
While the Osmo Pocket 4P is unlikely to replace larger mirrorless cameras, DJI is betting creators will embrace the convenience of a lightweight stabilised camera system capable of delivering more versatile framing on the go.
DJI is positioning the device as a premium offering above the standard Pocket 4, though official Australian pricing and local availability have yet to be confirmed. While the camera is expected to launch globally, availability in the US remains uncertain due to ongoing regulatory scrutiny facing the Chinese drone giant.
