Dene Rogers Appointed RadioShack CEO

Dene Rogers has been appointed president and CEO of American electronics chain RadioShack, bringing a range of retail experience to the role from previous positions with Target Australia and Sears Canada.

Rogers, who has previously served as Target Australia CEO and Sears Canada CEO, is set to join RadioShack from May 9, with a focus on positioning the retailer’s omni-channel platform for long-term growth.

Having filed for bankruptcy last year, the RadioShack brand was subsequently bought by General Wireless.

Since the acquisition, RadioShack has relaunched RadioShack.com among a number of initiatives.

“Dene Rogers has a long and consistent record of business success,” Robert Lavan, RadioShack chairman, commented of the appointment. “We are thrilled to have him join the RadioShack team.

“Dene shares our commitment to RadioShack’s legacy as the nation’s leading neighborhood electronics convenience store and has an impressive vision for how to expand the business into other segments of the market across a variety of platforms.”

Rogers stated that he is “privileged to lead the team who is working to improve RadioShack’s existing operations and expand its online presence”.

“Together, we will reinvent RadioShack’s business model to create a dynamic growth company,” he commented.
