D-Link Take On Arlo With Wire-Free Indoor/Outdoor Surveillance Kit

D-Link is stepping up their surveillance offerings with the Omna Wire-Free Indoor/Outdoor Surveillance Kit. Available now (RRP$799.95) with a complimentary 12-month subscription to the mydlink cloud recording service.

The kit includes two full HD lithium battery-powered Wi-Fi enabled DCS-2800LH Cameras and a DCS-H100 Wi-Fi Hub control centre.

D-Link claims the cameras offer “significantly extended battery life,” but don’t go into detail on how long those batteries will last.

The cameras – suitable for both indoor and outdoor use – feature built-in motion detection, night vision with infrared illumination of up to 7.5 metres, two-way audio, magnetic mounts, and separate mounting arm.

The kit can record stills and video locally on a microSD card or external USB hard drive, or store recordings on D-Link’s mydlink cloud service.

The free mydlink mobile app can control your cameras, set up schedules or event triggers, view live or saved video footage in Full High Definition video, and be alerted to all your notifications.

The kit also supports Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa — via the mydlink skill for Alexa users can view live feeds on smart screens.

So users can control their device with a simple voice command, like ‘Show me the front door camera,’ or ‘Show me the backyard’, instead of navigating the mydlink app.

“Our new Omna Wire-Free Surveillance Kit gives users complete flexibility to keep an eye on the things that matter most, both inside or outside of your home, no matter the weather,” said D-Link ANZ MD Graeme Reardon.

“There are no wires to run, and with high-power, rechargeable batteries powering each weather and dust-resistant camera, you’ll never have to worry about running ugly network cabling throughout your home or be restricted to installing cameras close to a power outlet again.”

The kit is being offered with a complimentary 12-month premium subscription to the mydlink cloud recording service — usually US$49.99 — that can store the last 14 days of footage from up to five cameras.

The new Omna Wire-Free Surveillance Kit (DCS-2802KT) is available now on www.dlink.com.au (RRP$799.95) and at all authorised D-Link resellers and retailers across Australia.
