It got a 4.5″ HD 1,280 x 720 Super AMOLED screen, 1.4GHz quad-core processor, 8mp rear camera with 2mp out front, WiFi, NFC and a fingerprint scanner to unlock the screen.
Like its big brother, the Galaxy S5 Mini also has some fitness creds – Heart Rate Sensor, S Health app and is water and dust resistant.

Like the Galaxy S5, the mini features a unique perforated pattern on the back cover. It comes in Charcoal Black, Shimmery White, Electric Blue and Copper Gold.
No pricing available yet but its likely to be significantly cheaper than the S5, which costs around $899 outright. The launch is also a bid by Samsung to capture mobile users who may not want to fork out top dollar for the heavy spec’ed 5 inch Android.
“We always strive to develop devices that appeal to a range of consumer tastes and styles,” said JK Shin, Head of Mobile Communication at Samsung.
“The Galaxy S5 mini allows consumers to enjoy the iconic design and essential and useful features of the Galaxy S5 through a maximized minimalism approach.”
It will go on sale in Russia first in July. SamMobile are tipping the S5 mini will be on sale globally this month and a dual SIM variant called Galaxy S5 mini DUOS.
Samsung Australia did not have any local details on the new S5 mini, when contacted by CN.
