CES 2020: Weber Turns Aussie BBQ Smart

Weber has taken the smart home revolution to the grill with BBQ company announcing the Connect Smart Grilling Hub for connecting to your smartphone for the perfect steaks and bangers.

Set to arrive in over 30 countries in early 2020, the Weber Connect Smart Grilling Hub will cost you US$130.

The combination smart app and BBQ monitor device is a ‘step-by-step grilling assistant that turns any grill into a smart grill’.

‘Regardless of the type of grill you own, the Weber Connect Smart Grilling Hub will seamlessly turn it into a smart grill featuring cutting-edge grilling technology,’ said Chris Scherzinger, CEO at Weber-Stephen Products LLC.

Through remote Wi-Fi access grillers will receive ‘flip & serve’ notifications and readiness countdown timers for ‘perfectly grilled food’.

The system works by attaching one of four food and ambient temperature probes with the hub compatible with practically any BBQ around.

Weber has even announced Alexa integration for the platform, meaning users may be able to ask the Amazon voice assistant when dinner will be ready.
