Multi-billionaire Jeff Bezos has sold another $U2 billion (A$3.1 billion) of his shares in Amazon, the technology giant has confirmed.
This brings the total of sales sold this past week to $U4 billion (A$6.2 billion).
Amazon, which Bezos founded in 1994, said he has sold 24 million Amazon shares this month.
The technology giant said in February that Bezos was planning to sell 50 million shares over the next year.
He last sold Amazon shares in 2021, and has also given away shares in Amazon as part of his philanthropy, most recently in 2022.
Bezos moved from Miami in Florida from Seattle in Washington last year, and according to Bloomberg, the relocation could save him $288 million (A$443) thus far as two years ago Washington state implemented a 7% capital gains tax — which Florida does not have.
Bezos, Amazon’s executive chair, is also the company’s biggest shareholder, and one of the richest people in the world. His fortune is estimated to be be more than $190bn (A$292.60).
His sales of Amazon shares come after they have risen by almost 70% in the past year.
