BenQ’s New Portable Projector Takes The Cinema Experience Outdoors

BenQ have launched a new portable projector with cable-free operation and protection against drops and spills.

Featuring a wide range of connectivity options, BenQ has designed the GS1 LED projector to simplify watching movies and other content while travelling or camping.

Thanks to its short throw lens, the GS1 is able to project a 60-inch image one metre away from a surface, and auto keystone can adjust to suit different surfaces like a tent, caravan or motorhome.

“As camping and outdoor holidays continue to grow in popularity, families are searching for new activities that can help them spend quality time together,” said BenQ Australia’s Business Development Manager Andrew Lambkin.

“The GS1 is the ideal solution, delivering portable entertainment that’s suitable for all ages. We are delighted to launch this new outdoor projector, it’s small enough to fit into any space ensuring it will be part of your essential camping kit,” Lambkin said.

The projector weighs in significantly less than standard projectors at 1KG and is much smaller with a 13.9cm x 14.6 cm footprint.

USB drives can be connected directly to the projector’s USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 inputs, while Bluetooth enables connectivity with external speakers, headphones and even a keyboard and mouse.

Content can also be streaming using built-in Wi-Fi and through the BenQ Video Tray app for Android devices.

An optional drop proof case can protect against drops of 60cm and is also IPX1 splash proof against spills. Optional batteries are also available to extend the three-hour battery life of the GS1.

BenQ’s GS1 portable projector is available now for RRP $999.
