New Kim Dotcom Site: Artists Sell Music Direct To Fans

The new website will be called Megabox and will allow artists to sell their music directly to fans, claims the BBC.

In a tweet, Dotcom believes the new site will liberate music artists. He posted: “the major record labels thought Megabox is dead. Artists rejoice. It is coming and it will unchain you.”

In an interview with torrentfreak, Dotcom said artists will be able to keep 90% of earnings and are “eager to depart from outdated business models.

“You can expect several Megabox announcements next year including exclusive deals with artists.”

Despite Dotcom claiming the new site ‘is coming’, it is unsure when Megabox will go live.

Kim Dotcom was arrested in January—and is still in custody—as his website Megavideo was hosting pirated content.
