Asus Unveils Portable OLED Monitor Designed For Flexible Work Setups
Asus has introduced a new portable display aimed at improving productivity for users who rely on a single laptop screen while working on the move.
The ZenScreen OLED MQ16FC is a compact 16-inch monitor designed as a secondary display for people working outside a traditional desk setup. It is priced at around A$460 in Europe, positioning it as a mid-range option in the growing portable monitor market.
The device features an OLED panel with a resolution of 1920 by 1200, offering a 16 to 10 aspect ratio that aligns with many modern laptops. This format provides additional vertical space, which can make tasks such as reading documents or managing spreadsheets more comfortable.
Asus claims the screen covers 95 per cent of the DCI-P3 colour gamut and delivers a Delta E rating below 2, suggesting accurate colour reproduction. This level of performance makes it suitable for everyday creative work, including basic photo and video editing.

The display operates at 60Hz, reinforcing its focus on productivity rather than gaming. A 1ms response time is included, which should help maintain smooth visuals when scrolling through content or switching between applications.
One of the more practical features is its ability to share power with a connected laptop. The monitor is equipped with two USB-C ports that support DisplayPort Alt Mode, along with a mini-HDMI connection. When paired with a compatible USB-C charger, it can deliver up to 65W of power to a laptop, allowing both devices to run from a single power source.
This setup could be particularly useful in environments where power outlets are limited, such as cafes or airports, reducing the need to carry multiple chargers.
The ZenScreen has been designed with portability in mind. It weighs just 0.68 kilograms and measures 0.9 centimetres in thickness, making it easy to slip into a laptop bag. A built-in stand is included for quick setup, while a standard tripod socket provides an alternative mounting option.
Software support adds further convenience, with automatic screen rotation when the display is turned into a vertical position. Asus has also included a preset designed to better match the colour output of Apple MacBook displays, which may appeal to macOS users looking for a more consistent visual experience.
With remote and hybrid work continuing to shape how people use technology, devices like the ZenScreen OLED MQ16FC reflect a growing demand for portable tools that enhance productivity without adding significant bulk.
Australian availability and pricing are yet to be confirmed.
